Each school will perform one time in front of all three respondents on their scheduled festival day. Schools are only required to be at the festival on their scheduled performance day during their scheduled time slot.
-
Schools are strongly encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled set-up time. While schools are welcome to arrive sooner to watch other performances, we cannot guarantee dressing rooms will be available for early arrivals.
-
We have 6 dressing rooms available at the Amarillo Globe News Center for the Performing Arts. Each school will have an assigned dressing room/green room. There are also private changing areas available for those who need to change clothing.
-
Yes! We encourage you to check out other performances. We ask that all audience members be courteous to the performers.
-
We encourage anyone to come and watch performances free of charge. Again, we just ask that all audience members be courteous to the performers.
-
Your school will have 7 minutes to set and strike per UIL regulations. Due to the tight schedules we ask that your performance not exceed 45 minutes.
-
Your school will perform once in front of all three respondents. Immediately following your performance you will be taken to a private space where you will get a 45 minute session with each individual respondent (three back to back 45 minute sessions).
-
The Kody Hodge Foundation will provide one (1) catered meal to students/staff of each performing school on performance day.
Ex: Your school is scheduled to perform at 3pm on Friday. You arrive at 10am to watch other performances and plan to watch the evening shows as well. Your school will get one meal (lunch before performing OR dinner afterwards), any other meals will be at your own discretion. -
We work with the Amarillo Visitors’ Center to guarantee group rates for schools who need hotels. The Kody Hodge Foundation does not provide lodging for schools however.
